Performance of mechanical steel bar splices using grouted couplers under uniaxial tension

In this study, grouted couplers were used to connect steel bars as an alternative approach the conventional bar lapping method. The aim is avoid congestion problems and reduce required quantity of in order achieve development length practice. Two categories couplers, i.e., short-threaded grout coupler long coupler, nine groups well one group deformed bars, tested under uniaxial tension. total, 30 samples (including three repeated each group) tested. examined parameters types embedded length, eccentricity. For which equivalent 8 times diameter with eccentricity equal zero, exhibited best performance terms strength, ductility, energy absorption, failure mode, suitable be high seismic zone. Additionally, 7 that diameter, are low-to-medium Besides, smaller than or 6 was not sufficient utilised resist load due inadequate length. Also, predicted model estimate ultimate tensile strength couplers.
